(Zaman Al Wasl)- Pro-Iran Fatemiyoun militia has sent 200 militants to northern Syrian to fight along with Bashar al-Assad's forces in the last major rebel bastion, Badiya 24 news site said Thursday.
Liwa Fatemiyoun operates in the Syrian Desert east of Homs city and near oil-rich areas in Deir Ezzor province.
All of Shiite militias are fighting under the command of Islamic Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) led by Suleiman Rezaei, nicknamed the Iranian.
The Russia-backed regime offensive in Idlib has displaced more than 800,000 people since December, the United Nations said on Thursday.
"Of the more than 800,000 people who have been displaced in northwest Syria from 1 December 2019 to 12 February 2020, some 60 percent are estimated to be children," said the United Nation's humanitarian coordination office, OCHA.
The Idlib region, including parts of neighboring Aleppo province, is home to some three million people, half of them already displaced from other parts of the country.
