On May 4, 2025, the Damascus Bar Association issued a disciplinary decision to strike "lawyer" Fadi Malik Ahmad, known as "Fadi Saqr," from the list of lawyers, after his involvement in war crimes and crimes against humanity was proven.
The decision stated that Saqr, in his capacity as commander of the National Defense Militia in the Tadamon neighborhood, committed serious violations against civilians, including murder, torture, and kidnapping. The decision asserted his direct responsibility, along with Amjad al-Youssef, for the massacres in the neighborhood, documented in reports and testimonies.
The Bar Association heard testimony from a survivor, who confirmed that Fadi Saqr arrested him and his two brothers and later released him, while the two brothers were executed.
The witness explained that the arrest took place at a National Defense Militia checkpoint in the Tadamon neighborhood, supervised personally by Fadi Saqr.
This is the first semi-official action against Saqr.
