Security forces arrest five senior Air Force commanders from deposed regime in Tartous

Tartous (SANA) Internal Security forces in Tartous province, in coordination with the Counter-Terrorism Department, arrested on Friday, five senior Air Force officers and commanders from the ousted regime following a series of security operations.

Tartous Internal Security Commander Colonel Abdul Aal Mohammad Abdul Aal stated that the arrests targeted key pilots, field commanders, and operations room officers: Major General Mohammad Fajr Ali, Brigadier General Pilot Abdullah Ali Ma’la, Colonel Pilot Nidal Hussein Saleh, Colonel Mohammad Ali Salim, and Lieutenant Colonel Pilot Taleb Abdul Karim Hassan.

According to Colonel Abdul Aal, investigations and military records confirmed the detainees’ direct involvement in planning, managing, and executing airstrikes against populated areas.

The arrested officers utilized airbases, field guidance centers, and military aircraft to conduct intensive combat raids, leading to the destruction of residential neighborhoods, infrastructure damage, forced displacement, and significant civilian casualties.

The Ministry of Interior continues its efforts to pursue officials and members of the deposed regime and its militias involved in crimes and violations against the Syrian people, grounded in enforcing the principle of non-impunity, achieving transitional justice, and ensuring the rights of victims and their families.
