Damascus (SANA)– Head of the National Authority for Transitional Justice Abdul Basit Abdul Latif affirmed the right of the families of the victims of the al-Joura and al-Qusour massacre in Deir Ezzor to know the truth, establish responsibility and obtain justice in accordance with the law.
“We remember the souls of the victims and affirm the right of our people and children to know the truth,” Abdul Latif said in a post on X.
“Deir Ezzor, which paid a heavy price through the blood of its people, deserves justice that preserves its memory, uncovers the truth, establishes responsibility and ensures justice for the victims in accordance with the law,” he added.
The massacre, which was committed by militias the deposed regime in the al-Joura and al-Qusour neighborhoods on September 25, 26 and 27, 2012, claimed the lives of hundreds and left hundreds wounded, leaving a tragedy that remains engraved in memory of the Syrian people.
